Straight talking

A couple of days ago my eldest took it upon herself to comment on my 'big tummy' for the umpteenth time. I was lucky enough to be spared the input from my youngest daughter, usually they are a tag team.

Here's how the conversation or should I say monologue went;

Daughter: 'Mummy why is your tummy big?'

Me: *Awkward silence*

Daughter: 'You don't want to talk about it Mummy? Is that why you're being quiet?'

Me: Laughing manically inside, and utterly impressed with how on the ball my child is. I reluctantly answer 'Yes'.

I have explained to my children (repeatedly) that mummy's tummy is the way it is because I grew them inside of it, but enough is enough, I can do more. Time to reduce the carbs and the sugar and get back to cardio and sit ups, after all that is what I did before children, admittedly things were very different then. Lord help me.

I need to join you with the diet and exercise. My little cousin keeps saying I've got a baby in my belly!

MummaG that's what my kids say too, even the OH has started and its wearing a bit thin.

After my first two children my tummy was OK, but I think a combination of baby no 3 and being on the wrong side of 30 has caught up with me LOL!!

Nicola I'm impressed. My problem at the moment is forgetting to eat then eating junk to compensate. I'm going to cut out the junk, do more exercise and see how I get on.

Yes. Let's lose the mum tums together : ) xx

MummaG ha. The pic isn't my stomach, although it does look quite similar. Mine is a few shades darker too. Lol. I'm still blogging on my phone, so it's difficult to credit pics properly. Will rectify once my Internet is sorted.

ooh gosh, my daughter says mine is down to eating too much. Also been told this morning I have a fat face because I talk too much.
Girls are such darlings (no!!)

Oh dear. A few months ago my eldest was telling me that I need to lose weight (I weigh 9 stone!?!?!), because my belly stuck out when I sat down. Now I know that I could get that six pack (we all could if we wanted to), but I'm too lazy to stick to a sit up plan. I'm really good at holding my tummy in when I'm in public. Shouldn't that be enough? LOL!

Tinuke oh my word. That is so cheeky, yet so funny. Kids are truly something else x

Ash-Lilly, I don't know what the deal is with our kids lately. If they knew what our bodies had to endure to get them here...saying that I'm sure I've made a few comments on my own mum's tum back in the day, so I guess it's my turn now. Lol.

Yep I could probably get a hint of the six pack I used to have if I really put my mind to it.....*sigh*

Have you heard of Story Of Mum ? Google them and check out their Love Your Mum Bod. Yes we can all do things to be healthier and feel more confident in our own skin. Especially when our child point our our 'Big Bum' or says 'Baby in mummy's tummy' No Youngling there isn't a baby in mummy's tummy.
But well done for raising such an intuitive and clever little one :-) Take care, Kate
