Goodbye first tooth

Last Saturday night my eldest's first tooth fell out. Well I say fell out, I gave it a bit of a pluck. Don't be grossed out, it was hanging on by a thread. How she was managing to eat I really don't know. This is how it happened.

For the past few days I'd been giving the tooth a wobble but it wasn't really ready. Well on Saturday night after giving the girls a shower and washing and doing their hair I got them ready for bed and read them a story. It was after the story I asked to see my eldest's tooth. I wobbled it and it was just hanging there. It got me remembering when I was a little girl and my dad used to do all kinds of unexpected things to pop our wobbly teeth out.

Anyway I was wiggling away, and my daughter was flinching a little so I stopped then I asked to look at it again and I wiggled it bit harder then I quickly tugged at it and it fell out onto her duvet. She was giggling and I was cheering. Daddy went wild too. There was a little bit of blood but that was sorted with a bit of a wash out with water. Such a big brave girl.

Wobbly tooth

A few weeks ago my eldest told me she could feel something hard in her gum. When I took a closer look I could see a slither of white enamel cutting through. Wow! my little girl has big teeth coming already. She's five next month, so maybe it's time, (although I'm sure I was older when I stared losing my milk teeth - so long ago). I tried to wobble the milk tooth in front of it but it wasn't really moving. Fast forward a week and that same tooth is wobbling like crazy now.

It's funny, because that very same milk tooth got chipped a few years back when little sis threw a plastic toy and it hit big sister in the mouth cracking her tooth in the process. Very naughty. Of course little sis got a good telling off, but luckily it was big sister's milk tooth and now it's the first that is set to go. Thank God. My big girl is so excited. She is growing so fast.

He is walking!

My baby boy is 10 and a half months and he is walking.

A month or so ago it was a few wobbly, uncertain steps, then it was four or five sturdier steps and now, today in particular, he seems to be walking from one side of the room to the other, toothy smile gracing his lovely, chubby baby face.

After fumbling with my phone I managed to take this. Lol
My girls didn't start walking like this until just before their first birthday's.  I was expecting the same or maybe a bit later for my son, especially as he's a boy, and you always hear that boys take longer to do things. But not my little bundle.

I suppose with two big sisters to keep up with, there was no way he was going to be missing out on the action for long.

On a separate note, we got him dedicated yesterday. Unfortunately I was so pre-occupied I didn't get to take photos but I know family and friends did, so I'll have to get the pics and post another time. It was a beautiful church service and the party afterwards, to jointly celebrate my daughter's 3rd birthday on Wednesday was great too.

It was so nice to see all of our family together. Made me realise we really must do it more often.

Hmmm....same time next year??
